Data Collection on This Website

Server Log Files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits to us in so-called server log files. These are:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is used to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website and is not combined with data from other sources. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of our website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; for Switzerland, our legitimate interest under the revFADP).

Contact and Appointment Booking

When you contact us by email or book an appointment through the booking form embedded on our website, we process the data you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your request) in order to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions.

The booking form is provided through Microsoft Bookings (Microsoft 365). When you use it, the data you enter is processed on our behalf by Microsoft. We do not pass your enquiry on to other third parties without your consent.

The legal basis is your consent, our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry, and, where applicable, the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1)(a), (b) and (f) GDPR; corresponding provisions of the revFADP).

We retain this data until your enquiry has been dealt with and any related correspondence is concluded, unless statutory retention obligations require us to keep it longer.

Customer Portal

Our customer portal requires you to sign in. Authentication is handled via Microsoft Entra ID. When you log in, we process your identity and account data to grant access and to operate the portal securely. The legal basis is the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR; corresponding provisions of the revFADP). The rest of the website can be used without registration.

Hosting and Content Delivery

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare's content delivery network (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). Cloudflare processes connection data, including IP addresses, on our behalf in order to deliver the website and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of our website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; corresponding provisions of the revFADP).

Usage Analytics

We collect privacy-friendly usage data to improve this site, measure campaign performance, and understand journeys between Alpamayo-operated sites. We do not send personal contact data to our analytics platform.

Umami Analytics

This website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly web analytics service, to understand how visitors use our site and which campaigns or referrals drive visits and conversions. Umami is operated by Umami Software, Inc. (USA) and accessed via cloud.umami.is; analytics data is processed on our behalf on Umami's cloud infrastructure.

Umami records page views and selected interaction events. For campaign analysis, we may store UTM parameters, referral information and an anonymous first-party journey identifier across Alpamayo-operated sites such as alpamayo-solutions.com and alpamayo-chocolate.com. Umami works without cross-site advertising cookies and does not build personal advertising profiles.

We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the website, evaluating campaigns and understanding which content leads to meaningful engagement (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; corresponding provisions of the revFADP).

You can object to this collection at any time using the toggle below. We store your choice locally in your browser by setting the “umami.disabled” flag; future visits from this browser will no longer be measured until you re-enable tracking.

Anonymized usage data collection activated.

Cookies and Local Storage

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We only store a small technical entry in your browser's local storage (the “umami.disabled” flag) to remember whether you have opted out of analytics. This entry stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Data Processors and Transfers Abroad

To operate this website we use carefully selected service providers who process personal data on our behalf, in particular Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery), Microsoft (appointment booking and portal authentication) and Umami (usage analytics).

Some of these providers may process data outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where data is transferred to a country without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and equivalent guarantees recognised under the revFADP.

Your Rights

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you free of charge, as well as the right to rectification, deletion and restriction of processing, the right to object to processing, and the right to data portability, to the extent provided by the revFADP and, where applicable, the GDPR. You can exercise these rights at any time using the contact details given in the Imprint. Where you have given consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Switzerland, the competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), https://www.edoeb.admin.ch. If you are located in the European Union, you may also contact the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

SSL/TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” prefix and the lock icon in your browser's address bar.

While encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
